Come Join Me

The weekend is here and we are packing up to go to Boone to paddle on the Des Moines River. My cousin has been rowing for many years, she and her husband are up at 5am every morning to get out on the river before work. Lucky for us, we leave in the afternoon for a day of adventure. The quietness around when on the water is one that everyone should experience if they can. We had our beer attached to our boat, nice and chilled and perfect for stopping and watching the beauty of nature. The next day my cousin left a kayak out for me whilst they went out with their sprint team. I cautiously got into the kayak to venture out on my own. Mother waved my off as I tried to get back into the motion that I learnt the day before. I felt a bit rock as nerves crept in realising that my kayak was so far away from the land and the chance of me falling was possible, but no one would be around to help me. I'm travelling again, with mother. I seem to always have to go somewhere with her every single often.  A few months ago we were in Poland,  which was beautiful and now, this month we are in Iowa, USA. This post isn't going to have as much writing. U want to share my photos of Des Moines. I spent a week searching to buy a canon 5D,  but had to put that off cos those thing a bloody expensive. So here's what I've captured with my blackberry q5. We visited The Art Centre- the building looked like a mini Getty Centre. Then stopped off at Salisbury House which was built from material shipped over from England.  We saw the Governor's house on Terrence Hill.  Paid a visit to the Grand Capitol hall and walked along the dam by the Women of Achievement bridge.
